Care

The first day
Run it on the lowest setting for the first few hours. A new pump atomises unevenly until the
line fills, and turning it straight to maximum is how people conclude it is broken when it is not.
Every few months
When output drops, it is nearly always the nozzle. Unscrew it, leave it in warm water for ten
minutes, dry it, put it back. That is the entire maintenance schedule.
Between scents
Run the unit empty for two minutes before switching bottles, or the last scent argues with the
next one for a week.
Do not
- Add water. There is no water in this system and adding it will clog the pump permanently.
- Use oil cut with alcohol or a carrier oil. Same result.
- Transport it on its side with a full bottle in.
- Leave it in a car in summer heat with a bottle fitted.
It is not burning anything. Cold atomising means the oil is never heated,
which is why the scent is the same on the last day of the bottle as the first. It also means
there is nothing hot inside it and nothing to leave running.
